Structural analysis | Rem Koolhaas and Jussieu libraries

ABSTRACT
Architecture would not be possible without a structure to support it. This paper aims to take a tour along the history of structures to understand how the theory and techniques have allowed the development of archi-tecture. The relationship established between the two is essential during the Project design, because the way they interact allows the creation of forms and spaces that the designer must use to his advantage to develop his profession. It is therefore necessary, to have at least a basic knowledge of parameters that allow us to clas-sify it and are essential when facing a project. The aim of this paper is, therefore, meet all these architectural concerns and to build a structural critique of buildings.

RESUMEN
La arquitectura no sería posible sin una estructura que la sostenga. En este trabajo se pretende realizar un recorrido a lo largo de la historia de las estructuras para comprender cómo la teoría y la técnica han permitido el desarrollo de la arquitectura. La relación establecida entre ambas es fundamental en el diseño del proyec-to, pues su manera de interactuar permite la creación de formas y espacios que el proyectista debe usar a su favor para poder desarrollar su profesión. Para ello es necesario poseer, al menos, un conocimiento básico de parámetros que nos permitan clasificarla y que son fundamentales a la hora de enfrentarnos a un proyecto. El objetivo de este trabajo es, por lo tanto, reunir todas esas preocupaciones arquitectónicas y ordenarlas para construir una crítica orientada hacia la estructura de un edificio icónico.
